Classes Offered
Pre-Requisite for all Courses:
- Minimum of 18 years of age
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s license, cannot be a Novice 1 or Novice 2 driver
- Endorsement 1(Learner’s) on your license, Endorsement 3 for 3A courses
- Proof of written air brake exam
- • Commercial Drivers Medical for Class 1A or 3A license
Class 1A MELT Course
$12,000*
Consists of:
47 hours in Class instruction
57 hours in Cab instruction
17.5 hours in yard instruction
This course takes just over 5 weeks to complete from the beginning to the end. There are options to complete the course quicker, please contact our office for more information. Class 1A MELT Course includes up to 2 attempts at the practical test with SGI.
*Course fees are based on a 2 to 1 ratio of students to instructor during the practical portion of the training. Solo courses are available in select circumstances at a cost of $12,500. Please contact our office for more information.
Air Brake Course
2 days of instruction on how to safely pretrip the air brake system on an air brake equipped vehicle. Includes the practical air test with SGI at the end of the second day.
Class 3A Courses
Unlike other schools we prefer to stay away from the terminology of 1 week, 2 weeks, etc. Our courses are based on hours and not weeks. All our programs are based with the minimum of 4 hours of driving per day and if paired up with another student, you will get equal amount of observation time. And you get the time you pay for!
24 Hour 3A Course

Consists of:
18 hours in Cab instruction
6 hours in yard instruction
Includes 1 attempt at the practical test with SGI
36 Hour 3A Course
$5000
Consists of:
27 hours in Cab instruction
9 hours in yard instruction
Includes 2 attempts at the practical test with SGI
1 Week Refresher/Top Up Training
$2500
This course can be used either as a refresher for someone who hasn’t driven in a while, or for a student who was unsuccessful on their training and would like to receive more instruction.
